The Cider House Gite

Maison Cidre

La Noe, Mohon

An ancient Breton house imaginatively restored in Central Brittany is available as a holiday rental or for B&B guests. The house is in the small hamlet of La Noe, Mohon, and lies between a farm and the owners' house. At least three hundred years old and an actual dwelling many years ago, the building has been used for all manner of things including cider making, barrel making and storing wood. Many of the artefacts found have been retained and add to the unique character of The Cider House (Maison Cidre). We think you will enjoy an interesting and comfortable vacation  taking advantage of the easy access to the coasts and the many beautiful and peaceful areas in the surrounding countryside.

Mohon is in the centre of Brittany with the lovely beaches of both the Gulf of Morbihan (below) and the interesting North Coast only an hour by car. It is a quiet village with a bar, boulangerie, restaurant/ creperie, mini supermarket and post office.
Josselin, an attractive medieval town with a grand Chateau still lived in by descendants of the original Rohan family, is 10 minutes by car. There you will find supermarkets, restaurants and a good Saturday morning market.

Ploermel is a bigger town, 15 minutes away, with more shops, a cinema, 10-pin bowling, restaurants, a Friday morning farmers' market and a large lake for swimming and boating.

The nearest ferry port is St Malo,1 hour 15mins by car, and Roscoff is about 2 hours 15mins.

A good deal of the time the roads are almost traffic free which makes this an excellent area for walking and cycling.  There are plenty of interesting places within easy access and if you are travelling by car or motorcycle then the light traffic makes these visits all the more pleasurable
